How to Chose a Landscape Professional
PLANT has two types of memberships: Gold Members(GM) and Affiliate Members (AM). Think of these designations as credentials. They aide in identifying skill level and qualifications.
Gold Members are the cream of the crop. These businesses have invested in insurance and other certifications to protect the homeowner. They carry liability insurance and workmen's compensation. And if they spray pesticides they have a Pesticide Charter and Nursery Certificate from Tennessee Department of Agriculture.
Affiliate Members are generally designers or other businesses that are in the process of building. An affiliate member may better fit project than and gold member if it is a small job with limited liability. Advantages to choosing an affiliate member may include more face to face time with the owner/operator. Accordingly, the lower overhead associated with a smaller company may contribute to a lower price.
